Do you have a passion for horticulture, and working outdoors with like-minded people, delivering much needed gardening services for aged clients and delivering support and peace of mind to those who value excellence.

Helping Hand Gardening and Maintenance teams are growing and seeking dedicated Garden Maintenance Field Staff to join the team.

Based in Adelaide Metro, as part of our Gardening and Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality gardening services to meet the needs of Helping Hand Clients living in their own homes as well as across our retirement village spaces. 

We have Casual, Part Time and Fulltime positions available for the right candidates.

 

 

 

 

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Providing a range of gardening services to meet the client’s needs
  • Working with clients to provide great customer service 
  • Undertake garden maintenance services across multi sites including mowing, edging, snipping, weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, sweeping, litter collection and/or other gardening as required.
  • Delivering services that are connected, personalised, considerate and caring
  • Sharing your skills and knowledge with others to support their learning

What you’ll bring 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who consistently strives for excellence. You will bring experience in gardening and maintenance, landscaping, and safe equipment use. Your physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role including safe bending, lifting and carrying and ability to complete basic operator maintenance on equipment and tools will be highly regarded. If you are dedicated and detail-oriented, always striving for excellence in your work, then this position is for you.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • At least 1 year of gardening / nursery experience, or Cert iii Parks and Gardens Graduate/ Horticulture.
  • A sound knowledge and experience of using gardening equipment
  • The ability to work independently under limited supervision
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Current Australian driver licence
  • Have a valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one
  • A registered, well-maintained, reliable and insured vehicle
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and accurately
  • Good computer literacy, familiar with basic computer software inc email, word, outlook etc.
  • Ability to operate smartphones and apps (such as Microsoft Outlook)

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

  • Understanding of Aged Care
  • Gardening Wizard: You have a passion for plant and garden care, pruning, weeding, hedging.
  • Great Initiative and Awareness: You are comfortable to work independently, exercising discretion and sound judgment in carrying out your duties.
  • Successful Communicator: You are able to listen, understand, and adapt your style of communication to different audiences, ensuring smooth interactions with peers, clients and families.
  • Self-Driven: You thrive in an independant work environment, are reliable, and ensure a positive experience for our clients.
