Based in Salisbury South as our highly valuable Occupational Therapist, you will deliver a range of occupational therapy services that will support clients to improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. This position provides services to Helping Hand services within the Adelaide Home Care Service.   

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Adopting, applying and promoting a wellness and reablement approach, with client-directed outcome measures, to engage and motivate clients in their goal development and service planning.
  • Providing comprehensive and contemporary, evidence-based occupational therapy services to clients in accordance with each client’s needs.
  • Providing occupational therapy in accordance with agreed care and support plans, relevant legislation, contemporary care standards and Helping Hand philosophy, policy and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with all teams to ensure that the client service needs are met. This includes communicating regularly and effectively within the team and with other teams involved in providing services to the client.

 

What you’ll bring 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated experience providing occupational therapy services to adult clients in rehabilitative environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and evaluating functional needs of clients and providing group and individual occupational therapy services.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and the ability to be cross culturally sensitive.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in the provision of clear, succinct and accurate assessments, care and support plans and case notes.
  • A working knowledge of local community services and networks and ability to utilise this knowledge and networks in the provision of services to clients.
  • Access to a vehicle as well as a current drivers licence. 
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or willing to obtain one.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

  • Experience in aged care sector.
  • Experience in the provision of clinical education or other tertiary provision of education (e.g. tutoring, lecturing, mentoring).
